Once or twice a year the Friends of Gulf St Vincent organise a Community Forum that is open to everyone. There may be a small charge if we are using commercial premises.
The aims of a forum include:
- Locating expert speakers who can give us the latest information
- Focussing on particular issues or regions
- Learning more about current research that relates to Gulf St Vincent
- Providing an opportunity for interested people to learn more about our fascinating gulf
The last forum was held at at Port Noarlunga SLSC and we heard from a range of great speakers on topics concerning the challenges for the City of Onkaparinga, the environmental flow of the Onkaparinga and 20 years of monitoring the Port Noarlunga reef . You can read about the previous Fora in our Blue Swimmer newsletter. In recent years fora have been held in Adelaide and also at Maslins Beach, Port Wakefield, Stansbury, Semaphore and Pine Point.
The FoGSV AGM is usually held in November each year. At this meeting we give an update on activities and achievements of the year, elect office bearers if necessary and provide an audited financial statement.
Following the official business there is generally a guest speaker. The 2016 AGM was held at the Henley Sailing Club.
Everyone is welcome.
